Medigap Plan F

Medigap Plan F was designed to supplement your Original Medicare coverage by covering the out-of-pocket expenses your Original Medicare plan won’t cover. This can be a great addition to your overall coverage if you are eligible for this plan.

What Does Plan F Cover?

Since Plan F is the most comprehensive Medicare Supplement plan, it covers all benefits with 100% coverage:

Medicare Part A coinsurance and hospital costs
Medicare Part A hospice care coinsurance and copayment
Medicare Part A deductible
Medicare Part B deductible
Medicare Part B coinsurance and hospital costs
Medicare Part B excess charges
First three pints of blood for transfusions

Plan F will also cover up to 80% of foreign travel emergency care.

Who is Eligible for Plan F?

An important factor to note about Plan F is eligibility. Unless you were eligible for Medicare before January 1, 2020, you will not be able to buy Medigap Plan F. This is due to Plan F covering the Part B deductible, which is no longer allowed for Medigap plans.
