Parts of Medicare

Before you enroll in Medicare, it’s important to understand the coverage provided by each part of Medicare. There four parts of Medicare include Part A, Part B, Part C, and Part D.

Parts of Medicare
Medicare Part A is looked at as the hospital insurance policy of Medicare, and is also the first part of Original Medicare.
Medicare Part B is viewed as medical insurance, and is the second part of Original Medicare. With Part B, you will receive coverage for:
Medicare Part C is also known as Medicare Advantage and is an alternative to Original Medicare coverage. It provides the same coverage as Original Medicare, but may include extra benefits. To join a Medicare Advantage plan, you will need to enroll in Original Medicare.

Medicare Part D provides prescription drug coverage. All Part D plans are required to cover a significant range of prescriptions, which includes most drugs in protected classes.

You can add on a standalone Part D plan to your Part A and/or Part D coverage, or have it through Medicare Advantage as an added benefit.
