Medigap Plan C was designed to supplement your Original Medicare coverage by covering the out-of-pocket expenses your Original Medicare plan won’t cover. This can be a great addition to your overall coverage if you are eligible for this plan, but do keep in mind that Plan C is not the same as Medicare Part C (Medicare Advantage).
Since Plan C is one of the more comprehensive Medicare Supplement plans, it covers many benefits. The benefits that are covered 100% include:
Plan C will also cover up to 80% of foreign travel emergency care.
Although Plan C covers the majority of out-of-pocket costs, it does not cover Part B excess charges. Another important factor to note about Plan C is eligibility. Unless you were eligible for Medicare before January 1, 2020, you will not be able to buy Medigap Plan C. This is due to Plan C covering the Part B deductible, which is no longer allowed for Medigap plans.
